You may not know this, but LOTD donates 5% of its proceeds to environmental campaigns each month. Proceeds from the last quarter are going to environmental defenders, the Wilderness Society. The Wilderness Society is an environmental advocacy organisation. Their vision is to transform Australia into a society that protects, respects and connects with the natural world that sustains us. Click below to see what causes the Wilderness Society have championed and are currently rallying for. Some may be very close to your heart and home. https://wilderness.org.au/protect-wilderness One such example is the Ningaloo Reef, off the coast of Western Australia. Situated between Perth and Broome, Ningaloo is where whale sharks feed, and humpback whales migrate with their calves twice a year. During 2001-2003, the Wilderness Society not only stopped the development of a resort that would have had devastating effects on the reef, but convinced the Government to implement regulations ensuring sustainable development in the region. Since then, the protected areas of the marine park have increased from 3% to 34%. With such significant successes, I couldn’t be prouder and more thankful to the Wilderness Society. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than supporting their cause.
