She has gone from a terrified, fragile little creature to a confident doggy, and she surprises me daily with new personality traits. Watching TV is now guaranteed lap time, and when we get into bed, she wont go to sleep without some cuddles first. We finally found a feeding routine that works for us both - Zoey is on pouches mixed with dry food, and she is slowly picking up some much needed weight. Her and Pixie, my Pom, get along so well and play sessions are a daily thing now. Even during play I can see her confidence growing. She has gone from submissive play to confidently standing her ground, and recently even started initiating play. We are really enjoying her, and she is just as much a blessing to me. Having a child in the house who wants nothing more than love and cuddles, has uplifted my own heart too. My brother reckons with the little tongue sticking out, I should have called her Miley (after Miley Cyrus) instead. Lol On a more serious note, I strongly suspect that Zoey might have a slight hearing problem. She often doesnt realise Im home from work until I am right on top of her, she only reacts to commands when shes looking right at me, and shows little to no reaction to bangs and noises around her. I think vibrations around her alerts her to sound and movement more than her hearing does. I also think the poor little thing must have survived on bugs while she was on the streets, as she is absolutely obsessed with kreepy crawlie things. Oh, and Zoey absolutely adores babies. When my 8 month old niece visits, she showers her with kisses and never strays far from her side. Same with my other 11 month old goddaughter.
