Zacchaeus had a challenge-he was short, nevertheless, he wanted to - TopicsExpress

Zacchaeus had a challenge-he was short, nevertheless, he wanted to see the master, hence he knew he had to do more than others: Instead of grumbling and embracing the physical limitation as an alibi for failure he ignored it and deviced a way around it. There could be a challenge in one area or the other in our lives but its not really important- what we make of it is what really matters. We have the option of becoming cry babies and delve into self-pity or we could choose to rise above the challenge and tap into the wisdom of God. Zacchaeus didnt sleep in his house, he climbed a tree to get the attention of Jesus to achieve his goal. How far are you willing to go to achieve your purpose? Conversely, a paralytic man who had been in that state for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda, having obtained a PhD in self-pity in Mediocre Institute of Management, had an encounter with Jesus- The king asked him a rhetorical question, Do you want to get well? Why the funny question? Why ask a man in the hospital if he needs treatment? Jesus knew all that but he questioned the seriousness of the man because there is a body language that depicts seriousness. We can grow in productivity just as we can progress in laziness. The man had been in that state for 38 years; if he hadnt embraced self-pity, he would have been out of the quagmire. Ignore the problems around you, look for a solution, you may have to do more than others like Apostle Paul, who made it clear he worked harder than his colleagues- no wonder he achieved more. We walk by faith and not by sight. Have a lovely day. Shalom!
