Zella Mae’s Country Beef Vegetable stew 2.5 lbs stewing beef 2 medium onions (About 1 cup chopped) 2---12oz cans corn 2---12oz cans cut green beans 2---12oz cans diced tomatoes 2---12oz cans chopped carrots 3 lbs. chopped potatoes 1-2lbs chopped cabbage (Optional…) Season to taste Begin by browning meat in a large Dutch oven or large stock pot, with just enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom of the pot. You should also season with salt and pepper to taste. You really want to get some color on the meat before you begin the stewing process. After meat is browned, add onions and other aromatic veggies, cook till onions are translucent. Add just enough warm water to cover and let stew till meat is tender (Depends on the cut of meat, should be around 45 mins) After meat is tend, add remaining veggies and season with a few beef bouillon cubes to enhance the natural beef flavor…let cook till potatoes are tender
