appreciating a perfectly normal day for a change. been sick with this and that off and on for the past month. First it was stomach flu (or food poisoning, not sure which), then I had a cold for two weeks, last week I had a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics that resulted in a rash so bad it looked like I had 3rd degree burns all over my body. got better finally towards the end of last week and had an amazing weekend. lots of good times with friends that was just what I needed. woke up this morning expecting yet another malady to strike as has been the pattern of late but to my surprise I felt great this morning. I was expecting maybe a plague of locusts this week or frogs raining from the sky with what I’ve been through the past 3-4 weeks. I felt really great today health-wise for the first time in a month, not a crisis in sight. got tons of work done, managed to complete a last minute project dropped in my lap 30 minutes before I got off that seem hopeless when I started. got home after work and found yet another note on my door from apartment maintenance that they will be doing a winter inspection of the A/C heating, checking filters, and they can’t make specific appointments, blah, blah, blah (sigh) so that means I had to race down to the apartment office before they close and implore yet another new office worker of my Blake situation and that it’s really uncomfortable/awkward for everyone involved if the maintenance guy walks in to find Blake naked eating popcorn in the bathtub in the dark. the new apartment office lady laughed and said she would call me before they inspected so I can slip out of the office, race over there in 10 minutes and get Blake dressed or otherwise hidden while they do the inspection thing tomorrow. another crisis averted. like I said…a normal day. Blake is happy as can be, naked sitting on a towel on the floor of his bathroom eating bean dip and ruffles surrounded by 5 empty bottles of Ozarka and a half eaten can of ranch style beans while I cook his chicken, cheese broccoli pasta casserole. maybe Monday night football later for me. I love normal days.
