as I was sitting in the back of a police car around 4am downtown - TopicsExpress

as I was sitting in the back of a police car around 4am downtown Seoul last night, I had this interesting perspective on cultural differences: Summary: the night started as they often do here, a soju filled Korean BBQ dinner party, followed by an array of jagger bombs & tequila shots at a club in Hongdae. Then all of a sudden I found myself separated from my group, lost & alone with a dead iphone battery with no idea where our guest house was... After taking 2 cabs (neither driver could find it), then walking around for almost an hour, I come across a police station. I walk in with an open beer in my hand and explain Im lost. In North America this would be pretty much an automatic fine, followed by a probable night in the drunk tank. However, in good ol Asia, Im chauffeured around downtown Seoul in the back of a cop car by 2 officers until they find my accommodation #perspective PS & there is a 50/50 chance I may have even given one of them my watch as a thank you gift offering, that would explain why it was not on my wrist when I woke up...or I somehow just lost it.
