being in rescue, working with shelters, hearing the horrors stories and sometimes seeing them...we have a tendency to think the worst of people who surrender their dog. over the weekend, a gorgeous young Boxer boy was surrendered to us. his owners work schedule had changed and the dog was crated and alone wayyyyyyy too much. that doesnt mean that he wasnt fed, watered, vetted or loved. one of our amazing volunteers drove a pretty long way to pick him up. even though he knew it was the right thing to do, his owner cried when he let him go. sometimes it is the situation that is bad, not the person. our volunteer promised him that he would be taken care of, and he will. he is one of the lucky ones who will have a wonderful new home. we can only wish that for all of them.
