f Jesus Came On Monday By Sunday He Would Be Dead-Care Now Sinner of yesterday Someone’s grandparent today Now that you are old And you find it hard to walk and see Now you want someone to care and love thee When you were young and had a child You did not even think of it While you were out In those streets running wild You thought yesterday Was going to last forever Getting old you said never Spending everything that you had On all the things that you knew were bad While your children starved at home Trying to make soup off a naked bone Now you have nothing to show But you still want them to know That you are the parent to their parent And the grandparent to them From that you think That they for you Should feel something that is lovingly true That spiritual something That your child could never get from you But now you say in you It truly lives Since you were a bad parent yesterday I think you need to look a different way Not towards your grandchild But to the child you had back in the day When you didnt Spiritually feel or see the same way
