first of all,i show respect and much thanks to my sis Ina for nominating me for the development trust.i might not have all the pretty letters that follow after my name like those learned colleagues on the trust already but what I do have is the support and hope of those many thathad the courage to vote for me.i am thankful and grateful to those many.where I have been and what I have done in the past is of no relevance whatsoever to the visions and hopefulness of what may be required of me from the people who put their tick beside my name.i cannot change my past but I have and can change my future and I now believe my future is where the people want me to be.my passion for pahauwera and its people is evident for all to see by my commitment towards employing pahauwera only people in my ever growing shearing business.i have remained loyal throughout to those that have chosen to work for me.proof of thatcan be obtained from any of those who have committed themselves to me and our shearing.nobody,and I say that with definitive conviction can tell me what to do with regards to running my businessand those same attributes would be extended to this venturethat has or may be bestowed on me.i personally thank you Charlie for standing up and saying what you said for me and surprisingly I did not think that support would come from you.to my family, extended family my nephews nieces friends and last but not least my radical wife,after much deliberation and deep thinking thoughts from myself I thank you all. I will commit 100% to the wellbeing and welfare of our people if I am allowed.just be mindful of the fact that I will not be easily lead or convinced listening and thinking is a very strong forte of mine and it is because of these same self qualities I will try and do my part to the best of my whole being.i thank yous ma te atua koutou ma te atua PAHAUWERA.
