One thing about these shelters that is nearly always over looked is that they can provide protection from low level predators (such as the lovely neighbors always loose dog) as well as the elements, its really difficult for anything to get in if everything is duct taped securely. Access to a shelter of this sort may mean a feral cat has a safe place to run and hide when they otherwise may not. People may say cats can always find a place to be warm and safe but thats not always true cats freeze and they get killed by predators so consider building one of these for your neighborhood cats!
