i just saw the movie Gravity and it is superb but spoiler alert! you might want to stop reading now but i will posit this in a way that may not spoil it for you who havent seen it yet....my Uncle Aubrey Schenck produced a movie in 1964 called Robinson Crusoe on Mars which was almost retitled Gravity Probe One Mars. Most of the movie is focused on one astronaut stranded on Mars..Like the heroine in Gravity he deals with running out of Oxygen. Like her he comes face to face with his Commander way after they are separated and in both movies that Commander is in the same condition...now Gravity is way way better than my Uncles old movie but attention should be payed to where some of these ideas came from and if only Aubrey had blue screens and computer images back then...
