i never got very far with french at bartley probably because i didnt concentrate, i do recall the two teachers who must have despaired at me!. firstly mr robinson, tall and angular with a rather no nonsense manner, he did not suffer fools gladly, he smiled sparingly and i found him difficult to deal with, but his work ethic was a million miles away from mine. mr gray was a differant man, of medium height , quite dapper with a moustache, he was an entirely reasonable chap, but because i wasnt tuned in shall we say , we didnt really get along , and i still dont know any french.
