Donald, decided to execute Troy Davis. many efforts were carried out to stop them from killing this innocent man. calls, letters and vigils were launched to stop the Troy Davis execution ... this legalized lynching ! in this state (GA) we continue the fight to end the death penalty. we fight against racially bigoted prosecutions and imprisonment. we began Saturday, October 1, organizing to bring the death penalty and racially bigoted prosecutions to an end in the united states. we continue fighting to end the nationwide death penalty and racially bigoted prosecutions. meanwhile black males (born in the U.S., whose first language is english, and who are of African descent) make up no more than about 6.5% of americas total population, they constitute about 41% of americas death row population and more than 50% of americas prison population. specifically in GA, where black males (born in the U.S., whose first language is English, and who are of African descent) make up no more than about 15% of GAs total population, they make up about 48% of GAs death row and about 60% of GAs total prison population. despite these statistics, black men do not commit most of the crimes. Rather, these statistics result from racially bigoted prosecutions and policing. the scourge of this new Jim Crow has run its course. hold my name [Troy Davis] close to innocence. protect the political legacy of our work against injustice. in doing so, make sure that our work against injustice does not die.
