im sorry, my friends, i wrote a long piece earlier today on what is going to happen to michael sam as he embarks upon his new nfl voyage of personal identity, but this stupid computer (whose purveyor will not be identified) lost it on me....so all my ruminations about michael sam being drafted by the sodom and gomorrah rams are shot to hell, along with my three cant-lose story arcs for hollywood when it finally gets around to making the obligatory movie when they eventually realize that no one, absolutely no one, gay or straight, is watching oprahs stupid reality show about this guy. for a start, though, lets point out that young mr. sam who seems to one and all to be a nice decent young man is a horrendous awful football player. in the combine, he was weight-outlifted by people 60 pounds lighter than him, his vertical leap is only a half-inch lower than phil mickelsons and only a quarter-inch higher than mine; he ran the 40 yard dash in something close to a minute and a half, and he is slow, he has no ability to change direction, no ability to fend off blockers, no especial tackling skill, and not any real inside knowledge of how football goes around and comes around. despite that, i wish him nothing but the best -- hell, its not like hes tim tebow and a christian, dont you know --, but the movie arcs i wrote were , until i lost them, maybe a better view of what the future will hold for this guy. someday, i will probably revisit them and say i told you so and no will believe me. (my ginmill buddies will know the truth, though.)
