Don Penney and his wife, Peg (now Hopeman) arrived in Thies, Senegal in 1962 with the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society (CBFMS), now called WorldVenture. As the first resident missionary on Senegalese soil, there were virtually no Christians. Now, 52 years later, Senegal has seen an incredible revival with nearly 4% of the population (roughly 500,000 people) claiming Christ as Lord, and is now WorldVenture’s largest field.
