I thoroughly enjoyed this film starring Thandie Newton (let me count the myriad ways, Thandie, that I adore you!) and Chiwetel Ejiofor from 12 Years A Slave. HOAYS is about the post colonial political struggles and murderous military regimes of Nigeria. The sanitised detachment of British television and cinesound reports are contrasted with the real life horror of these events seen up close and personal. Terrific cinema.
