ok, here i am to save the day ... Mr. Bills Biscuits (i cut these big so they make 5 large or 6 normal) 5T butter flavored shortening (Crisco) 1/2 cup butter milk (or reg milk with a splash of vinegar) 2t baking powder 1/2 t salt 1 cup (ish) flour combine but dont over kill it (i use the KitchenAid for 30 sec) pat into a large ball flatten with the bottom of a plate to about 1/2 inch cut with a cutter or glass (combine all those edges into one ugly one for the center of the pan) punch with your finger in the middle to make a dimple bake in a heavy dish (i use cast iron skillet) 20 ish minutes at 425 ** did you know that when you make sausage gravy you dont need to drain the fat? just brown the crumbles, sprinkle the flour over it and pour in the milk/water mixture (i use half milk half water) and cook till thick ... dont forget to use salt and pepper .... LOTS of black pepper ok, off to the gym to get rid of these calories (grin)
