An individual copy of your letter will be sent to each official: September 7, 2013 Dear Representative McClintock, Dear Senator Boxer, Dear Senator Feinstein, I am writing to you today to express my opposition to any military intervention in Syria. I urge you to vote against any resolution authorizing the use of force. I believe that there are no good outcomes by intervening. When the atrocities in Syria came to light last year, I would have supported military intervention to take out the Assad regime and support the pro-democracy forces. But we have a very different situation today. After nearly two years, 100,000 people killed, a rebel force comprised of al Qaeda, and a Syrian regime in a much a stronger position, a military strike would no longer be in our national security interest. An al Qaeda-run Syria is no better than an Assad-Iran-Hezbollah-run Syria. What is happening there is tragic, but it is not in the United States’ best interest to intervene with a military strike. I urge you to stand up for me, and all of your constituents, by opposing any United States military involvement in Syria. Sincerely, Rev.
