...reading this about someone having trouble getting accepted into nursing school really makes me reflect and be thankful that I am a Registered Nurse...sure there are tough nights and many of us, no matter what job we have, sometimes wish we could win the Powerball or Mega Millions, instead of having to go in some nights (or day shift, etc.). The weird thing is that while it is hard to get accepted into some nursing programs (at the time, I was one of about 49 people accepted into my class although there were about 250 applicants who qualified but they just did not have the infrastructure/Ed resources to take that many students), there is a bottleneck of sorts as many hospitals are really needing nurses---usually every day, I have some sort of e-mail or voice mail from more than one travel nurse company wanting to hire me...in fact, the staffing situation at my hospital is such that if you want to come work at Piedmont in Atlanta and mention me as the person who referred you---I will get a $5,000 referral bonus.
