slashfilm/philip-seymour-hoffman-video-tribute/ Colossal talent. Truly one of a kind. In an industry that thrives on image and good looks, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was always the centerpiece of any scene. You where drawn to him regardless of who he was with. A devastating loss for the industry. A devastating loss for all of us that looked forward to being taken away into whatever adventures he was involved. I had the good luck to attend the premiere of SCENT OF A WOMAN in Boston with friends of Chris ODonnell, the actor that played the character Charlie Simms, the main character in the movie. While I enjoyed tremendously the film, I was drawn to Hofmanns George Willis Jr. character. I discovered a new voice, unique, mesmerizing, magnetic. We all did. This was in 1992. Look out at the phenomenal body of work that since then Mr. Hoffman has produced. Regardless of the movies he was involved in you could always count on seeing superlative acting in the roles he was playing. This one has hit hard. This is our generations de Niro, Pacino, Hoffman ( Dustin). And he is now gone. You are missed.
