so I am in a bit of a moral dilemma. I worked for a local restaurant last year who gave me a 1099 form, with a fairly exaggerated misc income and it was categorized as consultant work, so they do not have to pay any employer taxes on my income. I am now being hit with over $1500 in social security and medicare taxes. Should I tell the IRS that I worked as a server and a manager so they also will pay their fare share of taxes? Or do I suck it up and let kharma smack them in the face at some point in the future?
