status update on my group project: I was given a 23% and learned a valuable lesson in fine print. I was told to proof read my partners work somewhere towards the bottom of the given guidelines, and since she didnt send me work till the night before which was only partially completed (not even half), I was faced with a heavy work load and short deadline. Sure, I skimmed through for grammatical errors (which there were plenty, so a few were missed), I fixed her entire format and submitted a completed report and we gave an almost entirely one sided presentation (my side). So...I waited anxiously all weekend, even emailed my instructor for my grade. I worked damn hard on that and I love more than anything to see the fruits of my effort. Well...my instructor called me up at the beginning of class right before our test to tell me I received an F, and heres why. My entire first paragraph was copy-pasted from a wikipedia article. Now, it wasnt mine, and my instructor reiterated that a few sentences later. She pointed out the blatant differences in the works throughout the paper, noting that my work was excellent quality, but I didnt edit my partners work. I walked back to my seat with an obvious aura of defeat and silently dealt with my emotions while I took my quiz, which I aced. Later on she changed my grade to a 67%, as to not give me an F, but to still teach me a lesson.
