(Philippians 2:10-11) Now, this is one of the most abused passages in all of the Bible. The popular interpretation taught today is not that dissimilar from the traditional Jewish expectation of a Messiah who will crush the opposition and coerce a confession out of them. Sorry to bust your people, but were talking about God, not General Zod (thats for you Superman fans out there). If you, in your mind, see this as confession by coercion from God, let me you, point-blank, youre wrong. God does not settle for confession or worship by coercion or fear. He wants devotion that comes from the deepest parts of your heart. And I believe that He will get that, when the full revelation of Christs FINISHED work breaks upon this world. Barefoot Steve
