the problem with getting up so early is I occasionally have these epiphanies which I then subject yall to. Being a parent is like baseball. In the beginning youre it, pitcher catcher coach every member of the team. As your kids become independent theyre the pitcher and youre the catcher trying not to let any junk balls get behind you and watching for the curve. As they become teenagers you are reduced to second string often times. They wanna play with anyone but you. And then the time comes when youre not in the game at all pretty much and you just wait for that call to be in some celebrity softball game to show youve still got it. Im lucky that vinney still lets me be in the game and that my step children let me play a few innings. But I know the time is coming.
