today is my sons 9th birthday. 10lb 5oz came forth into this world with a smile on his wee face. not a single cry was heard. he has been a trooper with a great attitude for his entire life. he has been hungry, homeless and abandoned by his father. his mamma has had to work her fingers to the bone to keep clothes on his back and a few toys in his hands. hes come from nothing. had nothing. and yet, he fears nothing. he carries no jealousy, envy or bitterness. he was born grateful to be alive. he was born grateful to have the Chance to go out and make something with his Aliveness. he does not expect another to hand him a silver spoon in this world. he knows whatever he wants in this existence, he will have to go and get it. but, even better than that, even better than his complete happiness with the little things in life, is his Faith. this little boy knows there is a God that loves him. a personal God that brought him into this world to make a difference... to leave a mark... to imprint something beautiful, righteous and good on this crazy planet... and he is absolutely committed to living a life that makes a difference. he found me. i didnt parent him so good. heck, i was just trying not to be bitter myself. trying to survive. nope. HE came into this world enveloped in the kind of love, peace and cheerfulness that can only be gifted by God. that boy is going places, and i just pray i get to see where. namaste
