tonights homework lesson learned-Kaiden can do math perfectly fine-in fact he can do it super-speedy-Id go so far as to say weve uncovered another autism superpower...BUT what he CANNOT do...or rather WILL not do is slow it down to appease the common core aspects-why? because his brain already has the answer on site/at face value. he sees NO reason why he should slow it down, break it down just so he can wait on the rest of the class to get it the ONLY way I can slow him down for teacher is to have him use that #chart like he is playing candyland. but the question is, why should he slow it down? his brain is working on a different level & already sees the answer...he sees this as a waste of time & doesnt understand why teacher doesnt understand his plight-yet mine is the one who cant perform what sort of hoops do we have them jumping thru, anyways? his brain is way off over there mowing thru actual math instead of counting blocks arranged in groups of 10 in some broken down convoluted way of simple addition...& yet my kid is the one who feels stupid...something is wrong in all of this
