update: matt is out of the coma. he is off all medication. with the help of three therapists he walked down the hospital hallway about 50 feet, eyes shut. he was basically asleep all day, only waking when physically prodded. he recognized a few people but not all. he spoke a few words, also when prodded, then he would fall right back asleep. he isnt using his right arm at all. big improvement, long way to go.
