via Anna Bellin, PLS SIGN/SHARE WIDELY! Sea turtle conservation worker Jairo Mora Sandoval lost his life working to defend endangered leatherbacks on Moin Beach, in Costa Rica. This horrible tragedy has unified the sea turtle activist community to demand the Costa Rican govt take immediate action to find + convict Jairo’s killers! PLS take action now to call for justice for Jairo! A Local Conservation Hero Murdered: Jairo worked in his home country of Costa Rica for many yrs patrolling nesting beaches to thwart sea turtle poachers. His work on Moin beach resulted in dangerous encounters w/armed drug traffickers + poachers. Days b4 his death, Jairo had called for help from police, urging them to send armed officers to protect him on his nightly patrols. The police did provide additional support, but it was not enuf.
