when the hoover dam was constructed in the raging Colorado river, workers suffered the worst working conditions in human history. many, many people died because of this. the very first man to die was J.G. Tierney, who, fell off a cliff while drilling into the side of the canal. interestingly when the dam was complete the workers were celebrating on top of the dam and inside the watch towers. during the excitement a man fell of the side of one of the towers and died. the last man who died fell of the very same cliff side as the first and his name was Patrick Tierney, his son.
