The list of the Oscar nominees is out and the movie 12 years a slave with nine Oscar nominations is poised to become a clear winner among the contenders in the 2014 edition. However and as great an honor, the nomination might be, it still does very little to confront the inherent hatred that one might have for the black man, especially when he assumes the role of a leader.
