ในโอกาสที่ รัฐฮาวาย ได้รวมเข้ากับสหรัฐอเมริกา เป็นลำดับที่ 50 เมื่อวันที่ 21 สิงหาคม 2502 เมื่อวันที่ 6 มิถุนายน 2510 ในโอกาสที่เสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนสหรัฐอเมริกา และประเทศแคนาดา พ.ศ. 2510 ครั้นเสด็จพระราชดำเนินถึงยังสนามบินฮอนโนลูลู นายจอห์น เอ.เบิร์นส์ ผู้ว่าการรัฐฮาวายและภริยา รวมถึงเจ้าหน้าที่ระดับสูงของทางการรัฐฮาวายและทางการไทย เฝ้าทูลละอองธุลีพระบาท รับเสด็จ ทั้งสองพระองค์มีพระราชปฏิสันถารกับผู้ที่มาเฝ้าทูลละอองธุลีพระบาทโดยทั่วถึงกัน รวมถึงบรรดานักเรียนไทย และคนไทยในรัฐฮาวาย ที่มาเฝ้าทูลละอองธุลีพระบาท รับเสด็จ นอกจากนี้ ทางการรัฐฮาวายจัดให้มีการแสดงระบำพื้นเมืองถวาย ทอดพระเนตรตามประเพณีพื้นเมืองของฮาวาย ด้วย ภาพและข้อมูลจากหนังสือเสด็จ ฯ เยือนสหรัฐอเมริกาและประเทศแคนาดา พ.ศ.2510,สำนักพระราชวัง,2549. On the occasion of Hawaii admitted to Union in August, 21st,1959. In June 6th,1967 on the occasion of Their Majesties the King and Queen visiting to the United States of America and Canada. Their Majesties the King and Queen arrived at the Honolulu International Airport where Mr. John A. Burns, the Governor of Hawaii and parties receiving them. Their Majesties the King and Queen conversing with people who came to greet them including Thai students and Thai people who stayed there. Then, Their Majesties the King and Queen observing the traditional dancing which the Hawaii officials arranged at the welcoming ceremony.
